How do I enable Java in my web browser?

SYMPTOMS

Even after installing Java, Applets do not run.
CAUSE

Java is not enabled in the web browser. If Java is already installed but applets do not work, you may need to enable Java through your web browser.
SOLUTION

Please follow these instructions to enable Java though your Web browser:

Browsers for Windows
Internet Explorer
  1. Click Tools and then Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab, and select the Custom Level button.
  3. Scroll down to Active Scripting and Scripting of Java applets.
  4. Make sure the Enable radio button are checked in both.
  5. Click OK to save your preference and restart web browser.
Chrome
  1. On the web browser menu click on the Customize and control Google Chrome and select Settings.
  2. In the Settings section click on the Show advanced settings....
  3. Under the Privacy click on the Content settings....
  4. When the dialog window opens, look for the JavaScript section and select Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended).
  5. Click on the OK button to close it.
  6. Close the Settings tab and restart web browser.


Browsers for Windows and Mac OS X
Firefox
  1. Start Mozilla Firefox browser and then select Options in menu Tools.
  2. In the Options window select the Content tab.
  3. Mark the Enable JavaScript checkbox.
  4. In the opened Options window click on the OK button to close it.
  5. Click on the Reload current page button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Safari
  1. Launch Safari browser.
  2. Click on Safari and select Preferences.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
  4. Check (select) Enable Java and Enable JavaScript checkbox.
  5. Close Safari Preferences window and restart web browser.
Opera
  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Hover mouse on the Settings.
  3. Then hover mouse on the Quick preferences and mark the Enable JavaScript checkbox and restart web browser.
Opera (Menu bar)
  1. If Menu bar is shown click on the Tools.
  2. Hover mouse on the Quick preferences and mark the Enable JavaScript checkbox and restart web browser.
